About Clinical Informatics Specialist

What does a Clinical Informatics Specialist do?

As Clinical Informatics Specialists, we work in a healthcare company to support data storage and optimal systems. We are the connection points between departments that share mutual application means and solve the technical issues they are facing. We design, develop, and maintain databases and software to store patient’s information and history. Ensuring that system applications are in line with the organization's goals is our duty. We also support team members and continually look for strategies to make improvements to the IT systems.

Core tasks:

  • develop software for storing and evaluating health information
  • execute and test the systems and suggest improvements
  • guide staff members on how to effectively use clinical data systems
  • provide support for clinical teams and troubleshoot the system’s issues
  • evaluate current systems and find problems and bugs
