About Clinical Instructor

What does a Clinical Instructor do?

We clinical instructors, offer orientation to new students to clinical sites, guide them on class schedules and evaluation methods to be applied in assessing them. We are responsible for developing and upgrading objectives and skills for clinical skills logbook and assessments. We also review clinical student’s portfolio of understanding to tailor activities as per their areas of limitations. We similarly perform identification and allocation of appropriate activities and projects for enhancing students learning. As clinical instructors, we monitor the progress of students to ensure that course learning objectives are addressed and outcomes met. Serving as role models and mentors to health science students is also our duty as clinical instructors.

  • helping students understand by answering their questions
  • upholding student confidentiality
  • orienting students on clinical sites
  • developing and upgrading objectives and outcomes for desired clinical skills
  • reviewing student capabilities to tailor activities
  • identifying and allocating activities and projects that improve students learning
  • monitoring the progress of students
