About Clinical Operations Manager

What does a Clinical Operations Manager do?

We, being Clinical Operations Managers, manage multiple global clinical trials of moderate complexity. We manage all sites and vendors (e.g., Clinical Research Organizations), with supervision from the Executive Director of Clinical Operations. We manage all aspects of multiple global clinical studies. We track and report study metrics to the study team. We serve as one of the main study points of contract for sites, vendors, and study collaborators. We assist in identifying potential vendors. We manage the study operational plans and CRO activities. We ensure coordinated execution and quality of study deliverables.

Core tasks:

  • contribute to clinical protocols, clinical study reports, and operational plans
  • review and refine clinical operational plans
  • coordinate internal and external clinical development activities
  • participate in clinical operations initiatives
  • assist in site-selection for identification of site recruitment
  • assist in the development and tracking of trial budget
  • represent Clinical Operations in cross-functional initiatives
  • identify project risks and resolve with some supervision
