This position is work from home. It originally started in a call center but Covid sent everybody home and they continued that model. Comcast products and services make them the Cadillac of cable, Internet, and and other communication services, which can make price an issue many times. Comcast is a wonderful company with many opportunities, but working from home sometimes can limit that contact you need. If you’re great with customer service, this position is working for the corporate office with limited corporate pull but a great way to get started with Comcast and become involved at all facets of the company.

I worked at Comcast for many years and never imagined ever leaving. This is a fast paced, challenging yet very satisfying place to work. I was recently laid off due to downsizing which was devastating...I'm down but not out. Comcast was good to me, will never speak negatively. I miss all of it... Great benefits, PTO, flex.. in fact, you get a fair amount of time off so it's nearly impossible to mismanage work-life balance.

Comcast's experience was actually pretty good. I started basically in the company startup for the fiber division. We were new to the market and because of that, we had what I would consider a pretty high cost to deliver as we didn't have the footprint that they do now. The management staff was very experienced and did a great job of working with the team.

In the beginning this was presented to me as a position that I would get nothing but calls for sales. Unfortunately due to system issues with there phones most days it was more customer service calls then sales calls and they still hit us for them which lowered our numbers and caused us to make less money and end up on worse shifts. The benefits were very good but after the initial training due to not getting many opportunities for sales my pay went down and I ended up on a horrible shift that was even worse for sales so I had to leave this position.

Pros and Cons
Good benefits

The company is stuck in the mindset that everyone wants Comcast television and land line phones. Very challenging to sell with video streaming and cheap cell phone service. Also, if the installing tech doesn't show, you don't get a commission, and you learn about it until you see your Comm. check .

Pros and Cons
Almost free Comcast cable service, lots of autonomy to sell

Comcast was my first job in the industry, where I went to prove my CCNA and A+ chops back when you couldn't touch a real-world server until you'd reset a thousand or so passwords. After surmounting the first hurdle, the crushing workload that comes with working for one of the biggest companies in the world, it turned into a job that I could see becoming a career. I developed skills there that have served me throughout my career thanks to the wide range (at the time) of technologies I had to learn to do my job. I did eventually leave due to the company acquiring dozens of smaller companies at the time, which led to them having an abundance of new managers and an absolute drought on promotions for a few years, but at their current size and rate of growth, I doubt that's an issue anymore.

Pros and Cons
Free cable, competitive salary, friendly work culture

Do not let Comcast fool you at orientation. They make you believe it is such a wonderful place to work and they value a balance between work and family. IT’S A LIE!!! The only thing they value is that you sell their products and continue to make money for the company. If you don’t make your goal 3 times, they put you on a plan that makes your goal higher and if you do not make the goal while on the plan they do NOT hesitate to get rid of you. Also, they make you believe upper management will always be there to support you. That too is a lie. Sure there are supervisors on duty to help, but good luck trying to get in touch with them for help. All in all the only good thing that came out of this job were the friends I met.

Pros and Cons
The only pro are the good friends I met while working there.

When I signed on 5 years ago, it was a very clearly described position supporting fiber optic internet for businesses. I did this for about 2 years, during which the powers that be decided we didn't need reps to be able to specialize and have intimate knowledge of our products, they can just follow a script and make a ticket. This meant adding 4 more products to the queue I supported. I went to Network Monitoring, which was nice at first, however we noticed that as people left the department, they weren't being replaced. After tiring of having to be part of a permanent skeleton crew, and 5 raises and a promotion finally resulting in me making a whole $1.25 more an hour than when I started, I left. Also, if you're gender expression reflects being non-binary or transgender, you can expect to be coached for "unprofessional appearance".

Pros and Cons
Supervisors are aware and sympathetic to this company being a meat grinder.
