About Communications Associate

What does a Communications Associate do?

As Communications Associates, we support the policy communications team in developing and implementing integrated, comprehensive communications strategies for legislative through external communications, content development, and media outreach. We also assist with media outreach by creating press lists and monitoring coverage and trends for CSPI and grantees while engaging with local and state media outlets. We develop a strategy for CSPI’s blog, including managing operations and writing and editing blog posts in coordination with the Policy team while managing and coordinating advocacy emails, action alerts, and marketing emails across departments.

Core tasks:

  • write and edit communications, campaign materials
  • develop and proofread marketing emails, fact sheets, and websites
  • assist with the execution of social media marketing campaigns
