About Communications Intern

What does a Communications Intern do?

As Communication Interns, we assist the executive directors and gain hands-on experience and training in various aspects. We use social media tools and assist with the implementation of the strategic development plan for communication. We attend marketing strategy meetings, post social media statuses, and contribute to ad campaigns. We perform office administrative duties and draft and organize social media content. We create and coordinate content for social media campaigns and monitor and research influencers, trending topics, and posts. We provide writing and editing services as well and it includes project descriptions, blogs, or copyediting. We also edit and format photos and videos for social media sites.

Core tasks:

  • help compile and update media contact lists
  • prepare media reports on assigned projects
  • assist with scheduling
