Compass Group USA is a British multinational contract foodservice company which was established in 1941 by Jack Bateman. This Chertsey, England headquartered firm is one of the supreme foodservice companies in the world operating in around 45 countries with 600,000 plus employees. The company distributes around 5.5 billion meals a year in locations which includes offices and factories, schools, universities, hospitals, major sports and cultural venues, mining camps, correctional facilities, and offshore oil platforms. As a Fortune Global 500 company, it is being registered and is also listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. orrison Management Specialists was acquired by the company and then it also amalgamated with Granada plc as a subsidiary of a planned strategy to separate the media and catering interests of the latter and in February 2001, and the two companies demerged to create Compass plc and Grand Media.
