About Compliance Manager

What does a Compliance Manager do?

As compliance managers, our duty is to make sure that internal policies are respected throughout an organization. We research and assess external regulatory developments that may affect these policies. We are subject matter experts, working cross-functionally with other teams. We are also the point of contact for external auditors. This role usually requires familiarity with accounting, law, finance, and relevant industry certifications.

Core tasks:

  • coordinating the implementation of policies and procedures
  • creating and reviewing regulatory compliance documentation
  • filing regulatory reports
  • designing and implementing compliance training programs
  • coordinating regulatory audits and internal business unit reviews
  • participating in internal and external audits
  • interacting with external auditors
  • reviewing communications such as marketing and advertising materials for regulatory compliance
