Conoco Inc

I started work for Conoco, Inc after college graduation. I worked in the field learning the equipment needed to move millions of barrels of crude oil and refined products throughout the United States via a network of underground steel pipe (various diameters). During my 48 years of employment I seen many technical innovations introduced to the work place (computers, satellite controls, remote operations of the pipelines, etc) After several years in the field learning the business from a field perspective I was promoted to an operations coordinator in Houston, Tx at a centralized control center. In this job I learned how to remotely monitor and operate pipeline flow throughout the United States. Conoco had over 15,000 miles of steel pipelines that were active. From this position I was promoted to a supervisor and then eventually Director of Operations and Scheduling. The experience of correctly moving barrels of crude oil and refined products was very interesting.

I had a great time working there. Plus I was able to work at night which left me more time to spend with my children.

worked as a grill cook/waitress for approximately one year, but my boses were the best out there and the working environment was top notch.
