Job Description:
Construction Operations Coordinator for their Construction Department. The right candidate will Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the construction office including distribution of OSHA compliance and construction safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan Support:

  • Coordinate plan revisions, redlines, issues with architects, drafting, engineers, purchasing, trades, field superintendents and management.
  • Verify all new versions of plans from architect with any revisions or redlines.
  • Organize and maintain up to date plans in subdivision specific files to be up to date and consistent with the current revisions.
  • Update and upload current plans to the Vendor Extranet.
  • Coordinate structural repairs between field and engineers. Distribute paperwork and file in proper files for future reference.
  • Coordinate field inspection issues between field, architects and engineers.
  • Manage plans for mechanical and plumbing; submit to architect to include in construction document sets.

Field Support:

  • Update the scheduling system CSMe to reflect relocation of field personnel, repair or rebuild schedules.
  • Coordinate issues between the superintendents and the support team.
  • Assist the superintendents and trades with questions and/or procedures pertaining to the system.
  • Maintain schedule changes to build schedules as requested from management and purchasing.
  • Update in JDE superintendent subdivision assignments.
  • Input completion dates in JDE for schedule cost codes when requested from accounting for trade payment.
  • Verify in JDE the correct build schedule templates for plans with purchasing.
  • Coordinate with Starts Coordinators the proper release to construction dates to maintain accuracy in CSMe.
  • Update and distribute superintendent s phone list.
  • Produce and distribute weekly reports.
  • Assist in resolving trade questions and issues.

OSHA/Safety Support:

  • Create OSHA set up for all subdivisions (maintenance and enforcement).
  • Maintain all construction office requirements: OSHA posters, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, caution tape, MSDS books, etc.
  • Update and maintain MSDS books for the field.
  • Compile and update Field Safety Program Books.
  • Manage Incident Reports from the field.
  • Compile and track all safety training: Red Vector (OSHA Training), monthly newsletter quizzes, toolbox talks and quizzes, etc.
  • Conduct new hire orientations to communicate safety program and requirements, use of hard-hats and safety glasses.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associate s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Certification in the 10-hour OSHA course is preferred.
  • Construction background is desired but not required.
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • JDE experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in residential blueprint reading beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills necessary.
