About Construction Project Manager

What does a Construction Project Manager do?

As Construction Project Managers, we are responsible for collaborating with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project and negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements. Also, we have to obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities. We further supervise the work of laborers; mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed and evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

Core tasks:

  • ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities and determining needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish
  • planning all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • acquiring equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies and hiring contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
