Continental Airlines was a significant American airline that began operations in 1934 and later relocated to Houston, Texas US. It has ownership stakes in numerous carriers as well as brand collaborations with them. Texas International Airlines bought a majority stake in Continental in 1981. Despite encountering financial difficulties, the firms combined in 1982, relocated to Houston, and expanded into one of the country's major carriers. Continental formally amalgamated with United on November 30, 2011, and is no longer an independent airline. Continental's traveler reservation system and air miles program were integrated with United on March 3, 2012. 'Continental Flight 1267' was the last Continental Airlines flight to take off, going from Phoenix and landing in Cleveland.
