Contra Costa County is one of 58 counties in the state of California, United States, inhabited by a population of about 150,000 residents. This suburban county spans across the northern portion in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, comprising 19 cities and many established communities in the unincorporated area. The county was formed as one of the original 27 counties established in California in 1850 and is overviewed by the County Administrator's Office which is responsible for Staffing the Board of Supervisors and Board committees, supervising appointed Department Heads, Planning, monitoring, and overseeing County operations, alongside numerous other miscellaneous works.
