What does a Contract Administrator do?

As Contract Administrators, we examine proposals, requirements and contracts to ensure that the required equipment, products and services are purchased. We negotiate and determine contract terms and conditions. Some of us review and prepare contract documentation. We set delivery dates, monitor progress and communicate with clients and vendors to address issues. We assist project managers, planners, engineers, stakeholders, and other professionals in achieving project objectives.

Core tasks:

  • examine the possible risks associated with complex contract terms
  • stay up to date on legislative amendments
  • collaborate with the legal department
  • ensure that all contract deadlines and requirements are fulfilled
