Worked there for about a year. I was hired has a customer service representative. I was given a sideway promotion into the resolution department after 6 months when I then learned that when in that position I was stuck with no way for advancement. The pay was minimal with no raises. The only way to make more money was to work night shifts and weekends to get a shift differential.

I thoroughly enjoyed my job at Convergys. There were a lot of employees there that complained about the company I didn't have a problem with them The only reason I left there is because I was moving out of state. I understand they're no longer in business but I felt the wages were extremely fair, in fact better than anybody in the area. They were strict about your attendance which people had a problem with. I look at it this way, if you apply for a job, accept the position, then show up to do the job.

I liked answering phones and trying to help people. It was a collection agency and you have to follow very strict rules. I didn't think those rules were fair to most people. I left because I didn't like the hours I was working and I didn't like working Saturday's.

Flexible shifts. Break times. Nice managers.
I didn't like the strict rules for collection. Most people couldn't pay on the terms they wanted.

This is a call center and you have to bid for your shift. Your stats have to be good to get the earlier shifts. I was able to get an earlier shift which was great. The coaches at the brick and mortar sites used appropriate coaching techniques and were on top of your stats before coaching started. The work at home branch only followed what should have been proper procedures for coaching when the Ops Manager was evaluating their coaching practices. The stars that I gave were for Work At Home.

Pros and Cons
Quiet working from home no distractions

Working at Convergys was a stepping stone in my career that taught me how to maneuver multiple programs and screens at once. I worked with agents instead of customers and being on the agent end of running someone's credit is much less aggravating than having to tell someone they owe 400 for a deposit just to have a cell phone. The managers and team leads were always willing to assist and it is an overall great experience and good company to work for.

Pros and Cons
You have a set schedule that you can bid on quarterly.
They are extremely strict when it comes to schedule adherence and productivity which is also a plus.
