Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Kitchen Supervisor is to maintain the daily activities of the culinary operation. Ensuring that all ordering, scheduling, and production of the culinary operation is in line with the business levels. Maintain food and temperature logs. Monitor daily all food and labor cost to ensure budgeted numbers are met. Communicate assistance needed during busy periods. Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Inform F&B service staff of available items and menu specials. Ensure the quality of the culinary operation. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Assist management in training, motivating and coaching employees; serve as a leader and role model. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Minimum: 2 years kitchen experience preferred. Past supervisory experience a plus. This job requires ability to perform the following: Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200 pounds Frequently standing up and moving about the facility Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. TASKS

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
