Position Summary: This position will carry out tasks, functions, and activities essential to providing strong educational programs in Health Sciences. This position provides leadership and coordination in supervising programs and support services while communicating and coordinating effectively with, and reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences and all areas of the College and community. Duties are performed in coordination and consultation with those under their supervision. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Program Coordination & Administration Motivates and encourages all team members to actively participate in continuous improvement activities in order to facilitate delivery of effective, high-quality services to both internal and external customers. May be asked to learn, lead, and use Lean practices Works collaboratively with faculty to provide direction for programs and curricula according to trends and research findings in education and health care occupations Assists Dean and faculty with strategic planning and advocates for departmental programs within the college and community Works collaboratively with faculty to develop and/or revise program plans; analyzes curriculum needs; coordinates credit and non-credit class offerings each term for Health Sciences programs Recommends the appointment of, and evaluates the performance of salaried and part-time faculty and staff members, creates work assignments, as well as recommends the retention, promotion, or dismissal of staff Assigns and monitors workloads for faculty and staff Participates in or leads department and program staff meetings Coordinates and updates affiliation agreements with Health Sciences facilities and other college partners Assists Program Chairs in coordinating Allied Health Advisory committee meetings Provides information and assistance to staff and students regarding department programs; fosters collaborative communication among department staff; provides problem solving and guidance for staff and students; communicates with staff about emerging issues and changes Serves as a role model; upholds the college''s teaching and learning values; fosters innovation, partnership and professionalism among faculty, staff, and students Campus & Community Liaison Attends appropriate meetings and conferences, and serves on committees as requested Facilitates collaborative partnerships with clinical practicum sites, service providers, school districts, and colleges/universities Represents the college at Health Sciences meetings with other schools, colleges, agencies, and organizations Serves as liaison to Health Occupations high school programs through College Credit Now Budget/Data Analysis and Reporting Monitors course enrollment and determines course status each term for areas assigned by the Dean Works with the Dean to administer and monitor general fund, self-support, and grant budgets , and prepares budget narratives and related reports Develops and provides reports as required; maintains records, and analyzes data related to Health Sciences programs Institutional Expectations Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds Actively participates in the retention and recruitment of students Embraces appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions; understands and utilizes available technology as communication and data gathering tools Actively demonstrates operational improvement practices such as Lean to promote operational efficiency and effectiveness; and the delivery of efficient and high-quality services to both internal and external customers Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Health Care or related field from an accredited institution AND- One year of administrative experience in project or program management Core Competencies Effectively manages multiple priorities Sound understanding of the community college learning environment and a commitment to the comprehensive community college mission Computer skills that include proficiency in MS Office suite and experience working with spreadsheets Must have ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse population of employees, students, and external contacts Preferred Qualifications Academic course work in educational administration, education, health, allied health field, nursing, or related field Teaching experience in community college setting Demonstrated personnel management which may include experience delegating work and/or managing employee performance Supplemental Information When applying for this posting, you will be required to attach the following electronic documents: Cover Letter Resume Unofficial Transcripts- An electronic copy of your academic transcript(s) from an accredited institution must be attached with your application.
