I could never forget seeing how on edge people were trying to get everything right. Absolutely no room for error and when an error was made, you were made to feel as if the world ended. The head of my department in particular was widely respected and almost feared by many. I was even told by someone in HR that this person was difficult to deal with. I had to get out as not only being around my teams stress gave me anxiety, but the role itself gave me anxiety. All you saw was the team running around the 5 floor facility worried they’d get something wrong. Nightmare. I was even told once “you shouldn’t be looking at your watch trying to leave at the very minute your day ends” but clearly this means my leader was doing the exact same thing to see what time I was leaving to get back to my family.
