About Counter Manager

What does a Counter Manager do?

As counter managers, we work in a specific retail department/counter, such as cosmetics. We supervise the operations of our assigned counter to ensure achievement of sales goals and customer satisfaction. We need to be knowledgeable about the brand and products we represent. We are expected to provide outstanding customer service.

Core tasks:

  • presenting products to customers according to brand protocols
  • completing customer transactions
  • recruiting new customers
  • providing customers with assistance
  • ensuring counter/floor presentation meets brand guidelines
  • maintaining records
  • supervising counter/floor staff (recruitment, administration, scheduling work, monitoring performance, leading and motivating)
