I wanted a long-term, full-time job to commit to that would suffice as my only job, which is what my boss promised. I had a second job he kept on me about dropping until I finally did because it seemed like he was serious about following through on the promises.
As soon as i quit the filler job, my hours were cut and the opportunities to " make it up elsewhere" were not only denied but turned back on me in a gaslighting manner. A lot of things ended in gaslighting/manipulation.
I was also warned by 3 separate people about the "mean girls" level of clique-iness and drama but thought I could stay out of it. Didn't work.
Because of my mental health problems, I struggled badly with learning the specific computer systems they use, and when I asked for help with what i couldn't retain, i got eye roll attitudes. So, i stop asking for help and tried teaching myself, which resulted in mess-ups that got them mad at me. I'm now leaving in a "mutual agreement."
Pros and Cons
Get to dress nicer, colored hair and some piercings are okay, solo and free parking.
Severe lack of communication, need a filler job, etc.

Assistant General Manager
Kingston, NY - March 11, 2023
I was a supervisor at a high-end resort for eight years and decided to take the leap to become an Assistant General Manager. I quickly learned that my opinions didn't matter, only the General Manager's did. I left when I was being scheduled for three overnight shifts a week, because the night auditor didn't show up for multiple shifts. Instead of him being mentored and corrected, I just started working 12-hour shifts to cover for him.
Pros and Cons
Discount on staying at other properties.
No consideration of your work/life balance.

I had a horrible experience for the three years that i worked at The Marriott. I turned the bistro around, the food and service were atrocious when i started. Management did little more than sit and gossip, except for when they were stealing. My only sin was reminding my bosses that my review was 2 years overdue, so that i could get my promised raise for my exceptional work. What happened was i was accused of loudly cursing in the lobby and i was fired. That still stings. My "career" never recovered, the blotch on my work history is still hurting my job chances. Stay far away from The Marriott in Danville Va.
Pros and Cons
i put my info in the above blank.
awful,awful people. stay away

The stress that went with job could have been avoided if ownership were more professional and ethical. The "accountant" is a real piece of work...just don't!
Pros and Cons
The Marriott Brand
Home office is less than professional
