About Credentialing Coordinator

What does a Credentialing Coordinator do?

As Credentialing Coordinators, we are responsible for organizing, maintaining, and verifying all aspects of the process and maintain files on practitioners. We track the expiration of certifications to maintain up-to-date files and assist health plan providers and customers with phone inquiries. Processing initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications is one of our main responsibilities. We screen practitioners’ applications and support documentation to ascertain their eligibility. We identify discrepancies in information and conduct follow-ups. Working as Credentialing Coordinators, we present applications to the facility’s credentialing committee. We also assist customers with credentialing inquiries.

Core tasks:

  • ensure data backup
  • ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies
  • respond to health plan providers
