About Crew CHIEF

What does a Crew CHIEF do?

As crew chiefs, we are aircraft maintenance technicians responsible for ensuring and coordinating aircraft care. Supervising a crew of technicians, we ensure that maintenance is accomplished successfully and documented correctly. We conduct inspections to identify malfunctions and take corrective actions. The term crew chief is sometimes used in other industries as well, such as construction/civil engineering, retail, and more. In general the role is a supervisory one, in which our primary responsibility is to ensure that all personnel, equipment and supplies in the crew are prepared and ready to meet the needs of the business.
