About CRNA

What does a CRNA do?

As CRNAs, we provide pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluation after double-checking their identification and obtain appropriate health history while documenting the pre-anesthetic evaluation. We obtain informed consent for anesthesia and select the appropriate pre-anesthetic medication to then administer anesthetic agents to patients under the supervision of the lead surgeon. We also immediately notify the anesthesiologist and surgeon of any change in the patients’ condition. We handle anesthesia maintenance, emergency, induction, and post-anesthesia care as well as inserting invasive line devices.

Core tasks:

  • perform tracheal intubation and extubation
  • stay up-to-date with the latest advances in the anesthesia field
  • prepare operating rooms, set up equipment, and prepare the necessary gases
