CSC Company Reviews and Ratings
Software Applications Engineer

The only reason they got a 3 was the pay was acceptable, and they had a retirement plan. The retirement plan required 5 consecutive years, which they knew was unlikely because of the length of government contracts. Three times these jokers won the contract I was working on, third time I got 5 years, barely, before the prime contractor let them go. People were quitting because of the horrible medical benefits, which I intended to do as well as soon as I got the 5 years in. But I didn’t have to when they were let go, and we got picked up by the prime contractor.

I just completed an online course entitled Coaching on line. I must work from home. I enjoy serving people and helping to ensure that person's needs are met. I loved working for CSC.

They never fought to keep me on a an employee. There was a loss of jurisdiction in my Security file because i left General Dynamics before my Security investigation was completed. all they needed to do was to continue my security investigation but they did not want to do that so they let me go after a few days. This cause me tremendous hardship.

The best this job has to offer is that you may see a celebrity (but you can not approach or take pictures). You also get to know events that are coming up. You can sign up for an event and then managers can decide they don't need you. I was working every single event for crap pay until they did that to me. They give you a goal to reach for an end of the year party and make it impossible to reach by not "needing" you for an event that was open to sign up when they thought they needed people. Its a headache and a joke. It was my 3rd job so I wasnt in it for the pay. They give you a food voucher that comes out of your check if you sign up for it and barely buys any food, like they're doing you a favor. The events could be 4 times a week or 1 time in a week so the work/life balance is a joke. Take what is offered or find something better. I got lucky and took advantage of what they did offer, but there was really people trying to live off this job and its impossibly difficult.
Pros and Cons
Maybe you'll see something cool and have a story to tell

Was recommend by a fellow contract I worked with in Korea at Camp Humphreys in Area 3. There I learned the technical aspects of working with contractors while exchanging information and operational ideology. CSC proved to be an enjoyable work environment with a professional feel.
Pros and Cons
Great opportunities to advance for FSR's, Programmer, Researchers and Computer science advancements.
Job stability like most government contract jobs.
