About Curriculum Specialist

What does a Curriculum Specialist do?

As Curriculum Specialists, we review and modify curriculum components. We create and modify new and existing curriculum. Modifying and updating curriculum to align curricula as identified by subject matter experts (SMEs) is our duty. We coordinate, support, and participate in meetings to review the curriculum. We are responsible for evaluating feedback and recommended changes. We provide continuous improvement of the instructional design of Digital Inclusion course materials. Working with the Education Program Manager, we identify participant learning needs. We design course materials based on research and best practices to meet those needs. Using existing tools to create instructional course materials is a part of our job.

Core tasks:

  • develop tools to create engaging and relevant learning activities
  • assess outcomes and redesign course content to ensure it optimizes learning needs
  • apply best practices in instructional design when creating course materials
  • create visual, audio, and interactive learning tools
  • participate in training relevant to the role
