Job Description
This position includes duties as a Customer Access Representative and a Medical Assistant II. As a Customer Access Representative II, it provides receptionist duties for the center and performs a variety of clerical duties including patient appointments and registration, management of patient flow, billing, and payment collections. As a Medical Assistant II, it assists the professional and para-professional staff in rendering health care.REQUIREMENTS:CUSTOMER ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.* One year formal training, education or experience in business office procedures required.* Computer experience required; ability to work with Windows-based programs strongly preferred.* Experience or training in customer service industry preferred.* Experience in medical billing preferred.* Bilingual Spanish / English or Navajo / English preferred.MEDICAL ASSISTANT II* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.* Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program; OR successful completion of the internal PMS Medical Assistant II training and assessment program.* Thorough knowledge of nursing aide duties preferred.* Must be deemed competent in phlebotomy at time of hire.* Ability to speak Spanish or Navajo desired.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:CUSTOMER ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE* If required to assist with state Centennial Care / Medicaid enrollment and/or NM Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX) enrollment, must successfully complete required state and federal health insurance enrollment assistance training programs and obtain related certifications before providing enrollment services and maintain current while required to provide these services.MEDICAL ASSISTANT II* Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire date. Certification must meet the requirements listed in the document "BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources" posted on Staurolite. It is your responsibility to keep your certification current at all times.SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:BOTH POSITIONS:This position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment:* According to PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, "Healthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements," this position must comply with required testing and immunizations. Testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be available at the employee's PMS health center.
