Job Description

****Internal applicants need to be employed by NSC for a minimum of 6 months before applying**** Job Summary The Customer Service Representative is responsible for working with the team to develop and implement Customer Service objectives. This will be accomplished by adhering to the processes and procedures that drive the support we provide to our internal and external customers. He or she will work within a team dedicated to the success of our customers and is committed to proactively and enthusiastically impressing our customers at every interaction. Their superior service builds loyalty and trust. The Customer Service Representative will engage in communications to build and manage relationships with internal and external customers to address their needs with appropriate resolutions in a timely manner. They will direct and motivate to ensure success as well as the continuous development and growth of Customer Service activities. Job Responsibilities Identifies and resolves issues while reducing the potential for negative impactClearly understands and communicates information effectively, while adjusting to the audience, by acknowledging, restating and painting a picture that goes beyond the customer needCross-train to become knowledgeable so as to provide assistance when required due to vacations, absences and fluctuations in the workloadMaintains an attitude representative of the organizational culture, including: Mission, Vision, and Core ValuesPerforms initial root cause analysis to identify quality concerns and follows up with appropriate resolutionAble to operate with minimal supervision, self-managed to complete task at hand and proactively pursue other work as tasks are completedSupports“Lean Business Enterprise” initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste eliminationMeet or exceed individual metrics established by the supervisorAll other duties as needed or required as adjustments in optimizing organizational outcomesResponsible and accountable for providing value to the customer.Collaborate with operations teams and utilize customer feedback to identify root causes for failureCommunicate findings from root cause investigations to customer service teamsCollaborates on other business improvement projects with supervisory and management team. Health/Safety Responsibilities Must maintain a working environment that is safe for all employees and comply with facility safety standardsResponsible for keeping the work area clean and free of any safety hazards at all timesMust wear appropriate attire for warehouse setting as described in employee handbook Required Job Qualifications AA is required, BA or BS is preferred. Requirement can be met by previous work experience.2+ years business experience including Customer Service.2+ years distribution operations experience.Strong analytical, oral and written communication and teamwork skills are required for this positionProven ability to effectively manage time while completing multiple tasksComplete tasks in creative and effective waysHighly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Proven project management skills Physical/Mental Requirements Essential functions of this job require the following physical demands.   • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Resolve customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise, refunding money, or adjusting bills.
