CVS has great staff, but unfortunately the turn over rate is ridiculously high due to increased responsibilities and no benefit in compensation. There is room for advancement but the managers in those position seem to only be focused on advancing and not taking care of the staff that are currently working for them. This is what leads to the high turnover.

Pros and Cons
Staff is great and always willing to assist.
NP pay should be a min. of 65/hr, not 50/hr. Yearly raises and bonuses are spotty and inconsistent

Culture and Values
“work/life” balance, wrong. Days full of tasks a CMA/LPN can complete. No help, constantly have people knocking on your door during the middle of a visit, distracting you from patient care. You run the pts insurance, do vitals, immunizations, lab draws, handle IT situations, and are responsible for all the cleaning. Your on-call days don’t matter. You get to “choose”, but if the region is short, they choose your on-call days for you. Don't make appointments, scheduling a vacation, or asking for a day off. You rearrange your life to fit their schedule. expected to do everything perfectly, with constant disruptions and micromanagement. You’re #1 job isn’t being an NP- unless you make a mistake and get bombarded with how much you’re NOT doing. The NP should be paid for the extra jobs they have to do on top of their regular pay. Not fulfilling the NP role due to other tasks.

Pros and Cons
Autonomy. The retail staff cares about you… more than management.
No help or overtime. Guidelines/policies are more important than employees.

Very organized and professional. Great support team and time goes fast due to busy clinic. The only reason I resigned is because I initially was hired as a LPN and obtain my RN at a later. There was no pay increase and no opportunity for me to advance

Pros and Cons
Beautiful environment
None that I can think of
