Cyber Audit & Exam Lead, IA TPM

The Information Assurance Third Party Management (IA TPM) program defines the framework and conducts the assessments that enable the business to protect sensitive Capital One information and confirms the third party s ability to provide continual services. The associate in this role will need to develop of strong understanding of the IA TPM program policies, procedures and processes to enable quick responses to audit and exam requests.

You will:

  • Develop of strong understanding of the IA TPM program policies, procedures and processes
  • Work closely with the broader Cyber organization, Corporate Third Party Management and other program stakeholders to understand daily interactions
  • Ensure compliance to program process and procedures
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the program controls, intent, and test procedures
  • Partner across the IA TPM community to recommend and drive program revisions/enhancements
  • Support the annual review/update of the assessment program with stakeholders
  • Support the assessment quality control process to help ensure quality of assessments and adherence to process
  • Develop and maintain a well-organized process to track requests during audit and exams

Responsibilities may also include:

  • Supporting the IA TPM program during audits and exams
    • Preparing materials to provide based on the initial request of the audit or exam
    • Help prepare materials to present the overall programs and to support specific request
    • Track additional requests and prepare initial draft responses
    • Maintained a well-organized process to allow for quick turnaround during a fast paced short term period
  • Supporting initiatives to drive quality assessment reporting by reviewing the assessment results (work papers and executive summaries) provided by IA TPM assessors of Capital One s third parties. This includes:
    • Reviewing work paper validations and findings to ensure clarity, traceability and logical alignment with conclusion, and consistency across reports.
    • Confirming appropriateness of risk ratings based on engagement risk, the validation results, and gap statements
    • Providing direct feedback to the assessor population

The Lead should be able to:

  • Demonstrate strong ability to analyze information and data
  • Demonstrates strong subject matter expertise and sound judgement to align appropriate risk level
  • Conduct an assessment in a collaborative manner to effectively assess controls while maintaining business relationships
  • Quickly analyze information security controls, ensure clearly written assessments, and provide constructive action items to assessors
  • Translate security, business continuity and operational controls into business risk
  • Develop and communicate quality recommendations to assessors
  • Work with diverse contacts throughout the world to achieve results
  • Communicate technical issues to non-technical people
  • Demonstrate collaborative partnership skills for working with various points of contacts
  • Adapt control intent to a wide variety of third party environments
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities
  • Demonstrate capacity to think broadly but go deep into subject matter when needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree or military experience
  • Active CISSP or CISA certification
  • At least 7 years of experience in Information Security conducting Risk Assessments or Information Security Audits
  • At least 5 years of experience in Business Continuity and Risk Management
  • At least 5 years of experience communicating and presenting to senior level management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Active CISSP and CISA certification
  • 4+ years of experience in PCI DSS, CoBIT Framework, Physical Security, and IT Operations Management
  • 3+ years of experience at a Financial Institution
