I was employed by Olive Garden/Darden for nearly 20 years. 16 years as a GM. The pay is competitive; the bonus structure is solid. I enjoyed leading my team and managers. Regardless of your title/tenure there is very little job security. Any person above the Director of Operations position is out of touch with daily ops. There was a time where the company seemed to care about the employees but with the changing of the board of directors back in 2015 the entire direction of the company changed. The quality of the product lowered, the workload became unreasonable and any memory of "Hospitaliano" was deleted from vocab.
Olive Garden may be a good fit for you but the passive aggressive communication style from the the SVP level and the constant redundant hypothetical questions from your Director will begin to slowly weigh you down until you reach the end of your rope.
I would not recommend working at the OG to any of my friends or family.
Pros and Cons
Pay and bonus. Opportunity for advancement.
Poor quality of life. Very little job security. You are just a number, regardless of position.
