About Data Center Technician

What does a Data Center Technician do?

As Data Center Technicians, we set up and sustain data servers and network equipment for a company. We are responsible for checking the everyday performance of servers. Our regular responsibilities also include maintaining functional servers, and troubleshooting server and network-related issues and faults. We are part of the network support team and we report to the senior technicians and network specialists. As Data Center Technicians we install, upgrade, and monitor system components as per the instructions received. We work with several teams and we are tasked with network repairment tasks.

Core tasks:

  • installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining networks and systems
  • assist in providing network support
  • prevent data loss, faults, and failure in computer networks
  • provide tech support for staff and clients
  • document processes and logs
