Data Reporting Associate

Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Salt Lake City, UT.

Primary Job Purpose

Serves as a data and analytic partner for Cambia's Commercial Proposal Strategy & Development team, by performing analysis required to attract and retain employer customers via request for proposals.

General Functions and Outcomes
  • Provides GeoAccess, Disruption and monthly provider-related data analytical support to the Cambia Commercial PSD department, utilizing Quest Analytics Network Access Reporting Suite.
  • Supports unique provider count sales reporting through partnership with BlueCross BlueShield Association.
  • Develops and maintains PSD department performance dashboard, leveraging data resources from Salesforce.com, Tableau and RFPIO.
  • Develops methodologies and approaches to new tasks and projects through design and development of analytical models and reports.
  • Proactively identifies issues and concerns to management.
  • Identifies problems or needed changes, recommends resolution, and participates in quality improvement efforts.
  • Identifies needed reporting, assembles or directs the assembly of reports and distributes such information.
  • Documents business requirements and methods used to generate work output.
  • Drives analytic innovation and best practices within Cambia.
  • Actively identifies and eliminates inefficient or ineffective use of resources and provides recommendation on process improvements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to document business requirements.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn Software As a Service (SAS) tools such as Quest Analytics Provider Network Management solutions, with a specific focus on Quest Network Access Reporting Suite, Tableau, RFPIO, and Salesforce.com.
  • Proven ability to design and develop reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize assignments within multiple projects.
  • Must be able to work with minimal direction and be very flexible to coordinate complex activities that are often subject to rapid or extensive changes.

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above

Data Reporting Associate would have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Discuss issues with editors to establish priorities or positions.
  • Photograph or videotape news events.
  • Take pictures or video and process them for inclusion in a story.
  • Present live or recorded commentary via broadcast media.
  • Conduct taped or filmed interviews or narratives.
  • Develop ideas or material for columns or commentaries by analyzing and interpreting news, current issues, or personal experiences.
  • Communicate with readers, viewers, advertisers, or the general public via mail, email, or telephone.

  • Assign stories to other reporters or duties to production staff.
