About Deckhand

What does a Deckhand do?

As Deckhands, we coordinate with other technicians to schedule multiple repair sessions and greasing for the company’s machinery to avoid malfunctions and breaks during their regular operation. We also use the company’s forklifts or cranes to move heavy objects around while ensuring that ropes are well attached and locked to the weight to avoid injuries in case they rupture. We also use multiple ropes, knots, and chains based on the product’s weight and distance in which it’ll be carried.

Core tasks:

  • assist other workers during emergencies
  • perform other general maintenance tasks such as sweeping and painting
