Default Services Operations Specialist I
The selected individual will monitor the foreclosure of loans secured by real estate through designated law firms and vendors and will update Huntingtons systems in a timely and accurately manner. Other responsibilities include:
Receives recommendations for foreclosure and reviews to confirm equity position, risk of loss and opportunity for Loss Mitigation and/or foreclosure.
Prepares and reviews foreclosure documents for accuracy.
Reviews title reports for accuracy and work through title claims.
Maintains accurate records for both internal and external audits.
Orders/recommends appraisals or inspections of properties, evaluates equity position and prepares bidding instructions for foreclosure sales.
Responsible for ensuring vacant properties are secured in a manner consistent with protecting Huntington's interest. Continual training and understanding of the collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation and mortgage servicing processes.
Ability to handle incoming phone calls from customers, law firms and internal departments.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma
A minimum of 2 years of processing foreclosure documents required
Preferred Qualifications:
Paralegal Certificate preferred
Prior default servicing experience preferred
Proven experience in a decision making role
Excellence in customer service; highly motivated, focused and goal oriented
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
MS Office and internet proficiency
Must have excellent written and verbal (face-to-face and phone) communication skills including professional grammar and demeanor
Bachelors degree preferred

- Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Personnel and Human Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
