About Dentist

What does a Dentist do?

As Dentists, we meet with our patients to discuss and treat their dental concerns by performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures and establish with them a customized plan to promote better dental hygiene. We perform many dental procedures such as extractions, filling cavities, and root canals to correct bite and smile issues caused by a decayed or broken tooth. We also prescribe appropriate medication such as pain killers and antibiotics, as well as apply helpful agents to teeth such as whiteners or sealants to relieve dental pain/cosmetic issues.

Core tasks:

  • administer sedatives or anesthesia before performing any invasive dental procedure
  • use a variety of tools such as probes, drills, brushes, and mirrors
  • keep detailed records related to the patients’ oral health
