Devon Energy hosts its operation onshore in the USA as an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company. This Oklahoma based firm primarily works in the hydrocarbon exploration area organized in Delaware. Devon was established in 1971 by John Nichols and his son, J. Larry Nichols and was announced as a public company in 1988. Dave Hager was elected by the board of directors as president and chief executive officer, effective Aug. 1, 2015. The company is currently responsible for the production of oil and gas and produces approximately 140,000 barrels of oil per day and provides a diverse catalogue of products.
