As Digital Forensic Analysts, we examine computers and other digital devices, such as mobile phones and cameras, for evidence of a crime. We provide support to civil and criminal investigations and intelligence agencies by detecting, preserving, analyzing, and presenting digital evidence. We examine items such as computer hard drives to recover files, that may have been deleted. We document each stage of the investigation and record findings in a detailed report. We also attend court cases to give evidence as technical or expert witnesses. We make use of hi-tech computer equipment and specialist software programs for investigations.
