The job was not hard, very easy and coworkers were very welling to help. But the manager at the time picked and chose who she wanted to give reviews and raises to. When asked about mine I was told I didn’t need one = no pay increase. But my coworker went and asked for a review, got one every six months with a raise tagged to it. I would have stayed with the company for longer if this wasn’t the case.

Pros and Cons
Relaxed, fun, caring environment
You may get the chance to grow or you may not. Depends on management, no matter how hard you work.

At first it was fun working but after a month I was getting pressurized for making credit cards and also with the goals but I did met my goals and also did really well with credit cards. My greatest achievement was making 26 credit cards for Dillards in a month. But still the more you do the more pressure on you. Last week my cat wasn’t feeling well and we had to lay him down but the manager was taking advantage of my weak point of my life that I am in right now and I took 1 extra hr of lunch and that’s the reason I had to leave my job because she won’t understand.

Management is everything. They can either make or break the store. I have worked in three locations and by the time I got to the third location management sucked! It was a disaster their turn overrate was horrible! The management did what they could to make you fail. It’s like you weren’t allowed to be happy. On the contrary, the other two stores I worked at were amazing! I loved it! They made a positive work environment. We were part of a team! They held daily store meetings. Recognized your success.

I worked in the home store at Dillards at the St. John’s Town Center in Jacksonville Florida. It was great, I really enjoyed helping the customers with their needs. Being a home specialist gave me knowledge to help me to explain all of the products to the customers, I could answer any questions they had. My main goal was to make sure my customers left with a purchase they were happy with, if I did that I know I’ve done my job. I was let go when Covid it and was told my job was secure however they did not bring me back and when I reapplied I was denied. I loved working for Dillards and miss that atmosphere. I still shop there.
