About Director Clinical Pharmacology

What does a Director Clinical Pharmacology do?

As Directors Clinical Pharmacology, we work in a pharmaceutical company to support operations of drug development. We work cross-functionally with both internal units and external resources. Playing the lead role in drug development, we define strategies and policies for all the teams. Our core job involves developing and executing clinical pharmacology strategies and ensure that they are followed. We participate in the planning of clinical and related non-clinical research. We analyze, present, and finally, report clinical research results.

Core tasks:

  • acting as the lead clinical pharmacologist for the lifecycle of every clinical program
  • developing overarching clinical pharmacology strategies to upkeep regulatory submissions
  • estimating the highly recommended starting dose built on toxicology research results in human trials
  • implementing ideal dose-finding approaches to ensure the harmless and effective progression of clinical programs
  • designing clinical drug to drug contact and food impact studies as per regulatory guidance
