About Director OF Acquisitions

What does a Director OF Acquisitions do?

As Directors of Acquisitions, we are responsible for ensuring any acquisition (purchase/takeover of one company by another) made by our employer is sound and reasonable. We seek, negotiate, finalize, and organize purchasing deals. In many cases, acquisitions are grouped with mergers. We project how the transaction will affect our company and determine the financial impact of a takeover. Besides, we may review companies to see if they'll make good additions to our company. Furthermore, we gather information regarding risks and opportunities. In this role, we head the mergers and acquisitions department. We oversee workforce planning, learning and development, talent management, performance management, onboarding, employee engagement, and rewarding. Our role is a collaborative one. We partner with the legal department, the senior management, and external business leadership of prospective businesses. Working as Directors of Acquisitions, we are accountable for keeping up with industry best practices as well as legislation and regulatory policies.We report to the Vice President of Corporate Development.
