As the Director of Compliance you will support the Executive Vice President ? Legal Affairs, General Counsel in overseeing the company?s Compliance Program (?CP?) on a global basis.??You will be?responsible for facilitating and monitoring the Company?s compliance with local and international anti corruption and fair trade laws, regulations and its own related policies, in particular, those governing appropriate interactions and arrangements with healthcare professionals.
Your responsibilities will include drafting and launching clear, concise compliance policies and guidance, training employees and third party service providers, interpreting complex legislation and providing guidance to senior management on compliance issues affecting the healthcare industry. You will also investigate alleged breaches of laws, regulations and policies and perform corrective actions, coordinate compliance tracking and monitoring activities and chair the Corporate Compliance Committee. You will work proactively with other departments and regions globally to assess and improve internal controls and business processes to enable the company to achieve its business goals and objectives in a compliant manner.
Given the broad, global scope of this role, we are seeking someone with judgment, political acumen and strong communication skills.? In addition, a successful candidate will be diplomatic, curious and capable of promoting compliance through building strong relationships with internal and external business partners in the United States and around the globe. As such, this role will entail occasional international travel to Europe, Asia and elsewhere as merited. This is an interesting and exciting opportunity to help shape the compliance function at CONMED and to ensure the integrity of the organization?s important relationships with key physicians.
In this role your key responsibilities will be:??
Draft and Revise Critical Compliance Policies
Interactions with Physicians/Consultants;
FCPA;
Donations;
Sunshine and Transparency Reporting;
Data Privacy; and
Other.
Develop training and education programs for Employees on Proper Roles and Responsibilities under Policies developed. Will train employees on policies, changes and potential risk areas as required.
Conduct Needs Assessment.
Oversee due diligence on international distributors from FCPA compliance perspective.
Establish Controls and Record-Keeping Requirements.
Oversee Audits to determine the extent of compliance and opportunities for improvement.
Investigate alleged breaches of laws, regulations and policies and perform corrective actions as needed
Maintain awareness of current laws, statues, regulations, etc. that impact healthcare operations and physician relationships
Serve as Chair on the Compliance Committee.? Assume primary responsibility for coordinating activities related to the committee to include reporting and follow-up on any open issues.? Provide annual compliance report and compliance plan to senior management and meet annually with the Board of Directors and quarterly with Audit Committee.
Travel as needed to US and OUS sites on a regular basis ~ 20-30%

Qualifications
Minimum of 5-10?years?experience in a compliance function/role
Bachelor?s?degree?required with?advanced?or legal?degree?preferred
Certification in Healthcare Compliance preferred
