What does a Director OF Emergency Management do?

We, the directors of emergency management, are concerned with preparing plans to deal with a disaster in an efficient way. Our job requires us to work with the agencies of government, nonprofit organizations, public safety officials, and other officials to help them give their best efforts in case of emergencies. We also make necessary efforts over the years to minimize the risk that may arise as a result of disasters. Also, we get the required funds to get the shelter spaces in the best shape.

Core tasks:

  • planning in advance to share scarce resources and equipment with the community
  • maintaining and observing a command center to help manage emergencies
  • designing plans to guide staff, volunteers, and first-line respondents
