About Director OF Emergency Services

What does a Director OF Emergency Services do?

We, the directors of emergency services, are responsible for the safety of lives and physical belongings in the town using the supervision of ambulance and fire functions. We efficiently operate the ambulance service and fire department through departmental procedures and plan the departmental goals, work priorities, implement programs and prepare training assignments. Our tasks include the formulation of working procedures and to make sure department members follow those procedures. We inspect and then appraise departmental personnel and their activities.

Core tasks:

  • consulting with the area or town Manager in determining policies and relevant plans
  • supervising all departmental members
  • preparing the budget of different department and overseeing the expenditure control
  • administering the collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
