Director of Nursing Services

As Nurse Directors, we provide 24-hour operational accountability for Medical and Surgical Units. We collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). We oversee the implementation and evaluation of programs to provide necessary patient care services. We participate in improvement activities to enhance patient care and improve service. We participate in the development of and implementation of care and performance standards. We ensure the fulfillment of patient care needs. We oversee optimal patient care and cost effective management. We manage the utilization of data and information from quality assessment and standards monitoring.

Core tasks:

• support and contribute to ongoing changes within the organization
• assist in assessing and coordinating nursing practice on a multi-unit level
• ensure appropriate nursing care
• provide guidance and direction towards common or shared goals
• develop and monitors cost controls
• utilize time and personnel resources in an efficient manner
• establish long and short term objectives that are consistent with the organization's mission
