About Director OF Product Development

What does a Director OF Product Development do?

In the role of director of product development, we lead the product design and enhancement efforts of our organization. Our goal is to develop innovative products or enhance existing ones resulting in commercial success and financial growth. The role requires a combination of strategic, high-level thinking with a hands-on approach. We oversee all product development processes, from idea generation through concept and product development, to commercialization.

Core tasks:

  • overseeing product development processes (new product strategy, idea generation, screening and evaluation, business analysis, development, testing, and commercialization)
  • driving market assessment, customer research
  • developing methods for monitoring projects and processes
  • partnering with Marketing, Merchandising and Creative leadership to communicate product
  • leading the development of packaging concepts
