What does a Director OF Security do?

As directors of security, we oversee an organization’s security departments and programs. We plan, implement, supervise, and assume responsibility for all security operations. In practice this translates to diverse managerial tasks, from strategic planning, through human resources related duties to financial duties. In larger organizations we lead a team of security managers and supervisors. Furthermore, we are responsible for aligning the organization’s security practices with legal and regulatory standards.

  • developing security/safety programs
  • developing plans and budgets
  • providing assistance to other teams and contractors regarding risk issues
  • reviewing of incident reports
  • managing/supervising security staff
