Job Description

Director of Social Media
The Director of Social Media leads the social media team to drive strategy and results across 451 Agency client accounts. This is a client-facing position and the successful candidate will have 7+ years of social media marketing experience working for an agency or brand, including experience leading and managing a team. This position is fast-paced and has great opportunity for growth. The right candidate for this role will be very communicative, understanding of client needs, can run the Social Media team, mentor team members and can think critically and strategically in all situations. The right candidate will also be organized, detailed-oriented, curious and analytical.
Responsibilities: �������Take ownership of social media client accounts and manage client relationships. �������Responsible for the social media P&L and maintain department budget. �������Lead and manage the social media team.�������Manage client teams for social media client accounts, ensuring that teams are on track and working toward client goals in a strategic manner.�������Work closely with EVP of Digital and the Account Management team on client satisfaction and upsell opportunities.�������Work to promote integration among teams and utilize cross-team strategies for clients.�������Set and manage expectations of clients.�������Lead regular social media team meetings.�������Deal with conflict resolution on an employee and client level.�������Conduct one-on-one meetings and mentor direct reports on career path.
?Candidate Objectives & Job Specifications/Qualifications:�������Bachelor�s Degree required.�������At least 7 years agency or brand experience in the social media marketing field.�������Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills.�������Deep knowledge of a wide variety of social media platforms and activities, including an understanding of how to engage, listen and monitor communities in each.�������Experience working directly with brand or clients to determine specific needs and creative ways to exceed expectations.�������Experience developing social media strategies across platforms, including utilizing analytics tools and understanding of how to engage, listen and monitor communities.�������Experience managing a team and dealing with conflict resolution.�������Capacity to be diplomatic and manage client expectations.�������Ability to build cutting edge innovative activation ideas and concepts.�������Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.�������Motivation to take responsibility and ensure successful outcomes across activities; be a driven team player.�������Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).

  • Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text.
  • Collect and analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand.
  • Conduct research on consumer opinions and marketing strategies, collaborating with marketing professionals, statisticians, pollsters, and other professionals.
