PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic direction for the current success and future growth of the Volunteer & Senior Services Department

Hire, train, mentor and manage the staff of the VSS department with respect, integrity and honest direction, thus ensuring high staff satisfaction and job retention

Develop  productivity and budget targets, monitor results  and actively seek ways to reduce cost and improve efficiency

Research trends, develop services and lead staff and volunteers in a wide range of volunteer programs and services which enhance the patient experience & increase market share

Develop and implement a business & marketing/communication plan for the Munroe Auxiliary Businesses to improve their cash flow and charitable impact (gift shop, uniform store, ACC, Baby Photo, special events and donations)

Plan and implement a recruitment strategy which increases volunteer participation and improves  volunteer retention

Effectively train/retrain all active volunteers for job competency and JC skills update

Provide quarterly customer service training to volunteers regarding improving the customer experience, community cares and providing safe and quality care

Work with staff to develop a comprehensive volunteer placement plan which includes: screening, background checks, interview, orientation, placement and recognition policies and procedures

Oversee the marketing and communication strategies for Prestige 55: website, word to the wise newsletter and community & physician partnerships

Manage all programs effectively by developing outcome measures  which tie program goals to organizational incentives

Collaborate with community groups, hospital departments and the Munroe Auxiliary, Inc.  to enhance the mission & goals of MRMC

Operates company vehicle, as needed.

Master of Social Work

5 years of experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

Valid driver’s license

Certified Director of Healthcare Volunteer Administrators

TASKS

  • Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by boards of directors or senior management.
  • Direct activities of professional and technical staff members and volunteers.
  • Evaluate the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
  • Participate in the determination of organizational policies regarding such issues as participant eligibility, program requirements, and program benefits.
