DCPS operates 117 schools across the District of Columbia and serves over 51,000 students. It has over 4,000 teachers who are holding great expectations for each student and has 109 principals who are creating positive school communities focusing on academic achievement. DC Public Schools has over 2,900 classroom aides, custodians, counselors, social workers, and other support staff that offer a healthy, nurturing, and safe environment to the students. Students across DCPS actively take part in improving and challenging experiences that boost their learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
