Job Description

District Sales Manager: Responsible for sales of all products within in a defined sales territory(Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas) incorporating sales skills, product training, customer calls, and regional trade shows etc. Coordinates with team members to plan and organize customer sales calls and training to optimize profit and exceed sales forecast, while managing corporate financial objectives. This position requires broad knowledge of the access control, gate and garage door industries with extensive experience in selling though channel partners and direct. Previous experience in access control, gate and garage door industries preferred.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Exceed sales expectations through consistent monthly performanceHigh energy, self-starter, dedicated to building a territory through relationship selling without daily supervisionQuarterback for all sales activities within the District DevelopLeads, Prospects, Champions, Dealer Locator, etc.Effectively service existing“Champion” accounts and establish new accounts“Prospects” by smart planning and organizing of daily work scheduleFocused on developing and executing a product specificKARE (K) strategy in designated“Trade Areas”utilizing all resources (Customer Service, RSM, VP of Sales, Marketing etc.)In depth industry knowledge of dealer– distributor competitor relationships and buying patternsProduct expert on all productsPrimary lead for distribution activities, show supportDetailed technical knowledge on both Linear Pro Access and competitive product and keeps current with industry news and trendsIncrease sales volume and product mix to new and existing accountsAttend Industry, Association and Customer trade showsMaintains records and makes reports on all phases of activities and performs other tasks as requiredAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers, the general public and Nortek Security& Control officeUse proper company forms and procedures and submit on complete and on time for all administrative functions.TRAVEL:Extensive (80%) travelMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:High personal and professional integrityAbility to apply sound business judgmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS& ABILITIES:Strong organizational and communication skillsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines including monthly sales reports, weekly expense reporting and CRM toolsDemonstrate time management skillsProficient with computers including network architecture and Microsoft Business Suite of productsEffective sales presentation skillsUsing logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problemsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and sales multipliers from company price sheetsBachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of successful sales experience are highly preferredHigh personal and professional integrity in work and social interactions WORKING CONDITIONS:Work from home office with extensive (80%) travel About Nortek Security& Control: NSC is a leader in wireless Security, Home Automation and Personal Safety systems and devices.
